Original Steam description
A MUD-style world. No server required.
Orendral: After the Sundering is a single-player text RPG played by reading, typing commands, and finding your own way. Its classic desktop client opens onto a world of rival cities, dangerous roads, independent adventurers, and ruins whose owners are long gone.Make a life between expeditions
Choose a race and class, learn abilities through lessons, improve your equipment, and decide whether a city or House deserves your allegiance. Follow their advancement stories, investigate smaller troubles along the roads, or spend an evening hunting and exploring. A searchable HELP manual and progressive quest hints are always available.Find your company
The adventurers you meet are simulated characters, not other people online. Greet them, exchange messages, and recruit companions close to your circle. Class abilities, injuries, curatives, and finite resources matter to your party as well as to you.Learn to fight together
Practise in the arena without risking experience, enter clearly marked high-circle contested regions, or lead a party into raid dungeons. Raids begin around circle 20 and grow into demanding expeditions with hostile encounters, readable boss mechanics, and equipment worth bringing home.Your client, your characters
Set aliases, custom hotkeys, numpad movement, and automatic curing. Cycle local targets with Tab, consult the regional map, and keep the live terminal visible while browsing older messages. Maintain multiple characters with local saves and import/export.Please know before playing
This is a keyboard-and-mouse, text-first game, not a graphical MMO. All other adventurers and party members are part of the local simulation. No game server, subscription, separate account, or live generative-AI service is required. Orendral is intentionally silent: it has no music, sound effects, or voice acting.
