The Queen is dead, and the Royal Blacksmith has been framed for her murder. Stripped of name and hammer and exiled to the Rust Wastes, you still have one thing the usurper fears: a forge, and the hands to work it.

Raise a rebellion one blade at a time. Forge every weapon, armor and helmet yourself, arm a squad of heroes and rebel recruits, and fight your way across five lands to the throne of King Aldric the Usurper.

Every item is made through three hands-on crafting stages. Keep the metal in the sweet spot while you smelt, strike the anvil in rhythm as you hammer, then cut gems or fit grips and fittings to finish the piece. Craft well and you earn Masterwork quality. Combine the right ore, item, grip and fitting and you may uncover one of 40 legendary recipes, recorded forever in your Smith's Book.

Recruit five heroes, each with their own weapon, armor and story, and fill the ranks with volunteers. Outfit every fighter with a weapon, armor and helmet. The gear you forge for a hero builds their Affinity and unlocks personal perks.

Set your formation, then watch the fight unfold. Melee enemies charge the front line while archers pick their targets at random, so where each fighter stands matters. During battle, channel the Forge Totem to heal, stun, empower and shield your squad at the right moment.

Cross the Rust Wastes, the Ironwood Forest, the Ashen Foundry, the Gilded Causeway and the Royal Citadel. Choose your path through skirmishes, elite fights, events, rebel camps and supply caches. Spend Influence at the War Council, send patrols back for older ores, and defeat each land's warden to push on.

Toppled the usurper? The fight isn't over. Defend the Citadel in the Endless Siege against ever-stronger waves.
