About the game

Too Many Chickens is a chaotic co-op game for 1-4 players. Chase, grab and throw runaway chickens, haul them to the barn, and turn deliveries into cash. Buy better tools, build chicken-catching contraptions, and pay off the farm’s debt. Your friends might help.

Original Steam description

The farm has a debt problem. It also has a chicken problem. Luckily, one can pay for the other.

Too Many Chickens is a first-person co-op game about rounding up runaway birds and turning farmyard chaos into cash. Work alone or with up to three friends to catch chickens, deliver them to the barn, and earn enough to settle the bill.

Get your hands full

Chase chickens across the farm, grab one in each hand, and throw them into the delivery barn. Scatter feed to gather a flock, then throw a catching sack into the crowd. Every chicken delivered puts money in the shared pot. The ones you throw over the roof are still your responsibility.

Bring friends. Divide the jobs.

One player rounds up birds. Another loads the wheelbarrow. Someone keeps the deliveries moving. With a little coordination, you can get a proper operation going.

Or all four of you can chase the same chicken for a while. Whatever works.

Spend money to catch more chickens

Buy better boots, longer-reaching gloves, catching sacks, feed launchers, and wheelbarrows. Invest in equipment to make bigger deliveries, or save your earnings towards the debt.

Everyone shares the funds. Everyone will have an opinion about what you just bought.

Build your way out of the chasing business

Set up automatic catchers and connect conveyor belts to the barn. Keep the catchers fed and the belts moving while you round up the stragglers.

What started with a chicken under each arm can become a whole delivery line. You’ll still have to work, but at least some of the chickens will be travelling in the right direction.

Clear the debt

The coops keep sending out more birds while there’s work to do. Keep catching, keep delivering, and decide how much equipment you really need before settling up with the farmer.

That next machine would be useful, though.
