Box Them Cats

Something has gone wrong with the Cat Distribution System...

Stray cats are pouring in, and there's only one fix: box them all up and hand them over to the caretakers. Box Them Cats is a relaxing 2D drag-and-drop puzzle game where you sort wandering cats into the right boxes, keep the area clean, and earn the trust of four very different clients.

How to play

• Cats wander onto the screen in different sizes and fur colors. Click and drag a cat to pick it up, check its size, and drop it into the matching small, medium or large box.
  
• The 2.5D view makes cats shrink as they wander off into the distance, so you'll have to judge their size carefully.
  
• Trash bags show up among the cats. Drop them into the recycling bin, not a cat box.
  
• Drop an object into the wrong container and you'll get a mismatch warning, which can also count against your current objective.
  
• No timers or complicated controls: just point, drag and drop. Mouse and touch screens are supported.

Two ways to play

• Campaign: take on jobs from clients. Each job comes with a specific objective.
  
• Endless: box cats and recycle trash for as long as you like, with no objectives and a random background each time.

Client objectives

Every Campaign job gives you one of four types of objective, with randomly generated targets:

• Time Attack: box a set number of cats before the time runs out.
  
• Color Streak: box three cats of the same color in a row to score a combo, and repeat it several times. A mismatch wipes your current combo.
  
• Accuracy Streak: box a number of cats in a row without a single mistake.
  
• Cleaning Streak: recycle a long run of trash bags, such as 42 in a row, without missing one. You can keep boxing cats while you do it.

You can accept a job or reject it for a small penalty. You can also abort a job that's going badly, at a larger penalty.

Build trust with four clients

Meet Ann, Betty, Chichi and Dia. Each has their own personality, background scene, comments and reactions.

• Complete an objective to raise a client's progress by 15%. Fail one and you lose 5%.
  
• Fill a client's progress bar to 100% and they ascend, revealing their goddess form.
  
• Ascended clients unlock permanent blessings, which change how the game plays. For example, a client's progress can never fall below 50% again, you may avoid penalties completely, or you may earn bonus progress when you complete a job.
  
• Each client has a diary where you can see the blessings you've unlocked and how to unlock the rest.

Tickle your clients

Tap a client's portrait to tickle them and see a unique reaction and giggle. It costs you 1% progress, so choose your moment.
