SHOCKWAVE

Coming soon

Roger Boesch GamesDiscovered Oct 23, 2026

About the game

An anti-gravity racer drawn in pure light. Seven wireframe tracks, eight ships and real racing physics — the desktop edition of a racing game built for the 1982 Vectrex, the console that drew with an electron beam.

Original Steam description

In 1982 the Vectrex did something no other home console did: it drew with light. SHOCKWAVE is the racing game it never got — a complete anti-gravity racer with full 3D wireframe tracks, fast ships and real physics, every line glowing like the beam on the Vectrex's own screen.

The same game runs on a real, stock Vectrex from its own cartridge. This is its desktop edition.

FEATURES

  • 7 tracks, each in its own world: Solstice Rift, Kestrel Run, Obsidian Gate, Polar Reach, Ember Fields, Nightfall Ridge and Zenith Loop

  • 8 ships across 4 teams — Falcon, Brutus, Aurora and Nova — each with its own handling

  • Race against rivals, or chase the fastest lap in time trials with saved best times

  • Real racing physics: air-brakes for hairpins, boost pads, and speed bleed when you scrape the wall

  • Chicanes, jumps and verticality designed for wireframe, where you read the road by its glow
