About the game

A dark, wordless puzzle-platformer in black and white. Guide a small creature with glowing eyes through a deadly forest: push crates, pull levers, swing on ropes, ride rafts, hide from hunters and outrun the Dark across ten chapters and 216 handcrafted rooms.

Original Steam description

A small creature with glowing eyes wakes up alone at the edge of a black-and-white forest. There are no words here and no one to explain the rules — only the path ahead, the things that live in the dark, and the faint light of sparks hidden along the way.

A quiet, deadly world

Every room is a puzzle you solve with your hands: push crates, pull levers, swing on ropes, ride rafts across tar, hold your breath under water. Get it wrong and the forest takes you — then you are back at the start of the room to try again.

Ten chapters, each with its own idea

  • Awakening and The Web — bear traps, rolling boulders and a giant spider that guards the forest.
  • The Mire — rafts, rising tar, leeches and sluices.
  • The Hunters — a village of watchers with spears; hide, set traps, drop cages.
  • The Dark — a shadow with too many eyes that cannot enter the light.
  • Reflection — a twin in a mirror world repeats every step you take.
  • The Factory — belts, presses, saws and electric floors.
  • Upside Down — heart stones turn the whole world over.
  • Possession — a pale worm walks you like a puppet; only light turns you around.
  • Heart of Darkness — everything you learned, together.

Also

  • 216 handcrafted rooms, a checkpoint in every one.
  • 80 hidden sparks for those who look closely.
  • Black-and-white silhouette art and an atmospheric soundscape.
  • Keyboard or gamepad.
  • Languages: English, Russian, French.
