Crash Protocol: The Wrong Directive

Coming soon

MartyPlayDiscovered Nov 4, 2026

About the game

Turn robot pursuit into a collision trap. Outsmart malfunctioning machines in turn-based grid strategy with tactical bonuses and Safe Teleport. Take on 50 campaign levels, endless Survival, ASCII Classic, and a Weekly Challenge with replay-verified online rankings.

Original Steam description

One wrong directive. No weapon. Every move matters.

GRID-15's guidance network has failed. Every service robot is hunting the last human operator on duty: you. Their collision avoidance is offline. You have no weapon.

Their predictable pursuit is your advantage. Lure robots into each other or into scrap. Plan each move, combine tactical bonuses, and use Safe Teleport to escape danger.

Your move sets the machines in motion

Move in eight directions or wait on your current tile. After your action, all robots move simultaneously. Take as long as you need to plan each turn. Read the grid, set up collisions, and make every move count.

Four ways to challenge yourself

  • Protocol Campaign: Master 50 fixed, reproducible levels across five sectors. Complete optional objectives, beat your personal best for each level, and uncover the cause of the wrong directive.
  • Survival Protocol: Face endless waves with fresh layouts in every run. You have one life. Use tactical bonuses to handle the rising pressure and chase a higher score.
  • Classic Protocol: Take on endless robot waves in a standalone ASCII mode with random teleportation and no modern tactical bonuses.
  • Weekly Challenge: Face the same Survival challenge as every other player. Make unlimited attempts: your best verified score counts. A new challenge begins every Monday at 00:00 UTC.

Learn the pursuit. Then turn it against them.

The Tracking Tutorial teaches the movement rules by previewing the robots' next moves. Learn to set up collisions before taking on the campaign and score modes.

Collect and combine tactical bonuses, including holograms, shields, and temporary movement predictions. From campaign level 8, Cleaner Drones remove newly created scrap after three robot phases. Plan around cover that won't stay on the grid.

Earn your place in the rankings

Compare your results on global and friends-only leaderboards for Campaign, Survival, Classic, and the Weekly Challenge.

Online rankings use server-side replay verification. The game sends the actions you take during a run. Our server replays those actions to check the score and outcome. Only verified results appear in the online rankings.

Your overall Campaign score is the sum of your best verified result for each level. Survival rankings reward the highest wave reached, with score deciding between runs that reach the same wave. Local personal bests are tracked separately from online results.

Play at your own pace

Play Campaign, Survival, and Classic offline, or enable online rankings to compete. You can turn rankings off in Settings. Runs played with rankings turned off cannot be submitted later. Turning rankings off also discards results still waiting to be sent. The Weekly Challenge requires rankings to be enabled. Sign in to Steam and connect to the internet to use the Weekly Challenge, submit scores, view friends-only rankings, or send bug reports. Online features depend on service availability.

Designed for Windows PC with keyboard and mouse. Industrial ambience sets the mood, with no music soundtrack. Adjust the ambience volume, reduce motion, or enable high contrast in Settings.

Uncover what went wrong in GRID-15 through the prologue, sector reports, and mission archive.
