About the game

Turn-based roguelike on a live TV game show. Hype is your XP. Earn hype for playing to the crowd, take sponsor deals, and face returning rivals made from whatever killed you last time.

Original Steam description

Good evening, and welcome to Floor Show. Tonight's contestant has signed every waiver we own. 9 floors, 3 bosses, 1 live studio audience. Our lawyers remind you that "contestant" is a job title, not a promise.

Floor Show is a turn-based roguelike on a live TV game show. An episode is 9 floors in 3 acts. The Bouncer, The Critic and The Showrunner close the acts.

Hype is your XP. Combos, trick shots and kills in the ON AIR spotlight pay the most. Stand still too long and the producers send more monsters. Each floor has an optional producer request for bonus hype.

Nothing moves until you move. Shove monsters into walls and into each other. Barrels set off the barrels next to them. Fire spreads through tall grass. Lava and spikes hurt monsters too.

Sign up to 3 sponsors between floors. Each one pays a signing bonus and gives a perk. Blaze & Co. makes you immune to burning. Polar Pop chills monsters that hit you. Studio Lights pays triple for kills on air.

Sponsors offer boons that change your attacks. Some boons need 2 sponsors.

  • The Rookie: shoves a monster 2 tiles.

  • The Stunt Double: dive rolls past traps.

  • The Magician: swaps places with a monster.

  • The Pyro: breathes fire.

  • The Washed-Up Champ: slams every monster next to them.

  • The Action Hero: 3 shots that take no time.

  • The Ringmaster: calls 2 critters to fight.

  • The Inventor: bolts a turret to the floor.

  • The Clown: honks. Everything within 2 tiles is stunned.

  • The Trick Shot: pins a monster to the floor for 3 turns.

Whatever kills you comes back next episode as a named rival. It gains levels each time it wins. A rival that escapes at low health comes back scarred. Burn it and it comes back fireproof.

Each win moves you up a season. There are 10. Season 1 is fair for a first run. Late seasons are hard. Most runs end before the finale.

Between episodes you walk around Backstage. Spend fame on contestants, sponsors, costumes and renovations. Spend Fan Mail on training.
