Play as Ottilie, a soaked farmhand who puts on a vanished witch's hat to get dry. Now the whole village thinks she is their new witch.
Words, not recipes
Villagers ask for what they need in their own words. Nobody tells you what goes in, so you find out at the cauldron. Your grimoire writes down every reaction you prove.
Grain by grain
Every grain and drop in the cauldron is simulated. Pour by hand, stir with your paddle and stoke the fire. Watch what you put in melt, boil, burn and set.
Chains of craft
What you make goes back into the pot. Tannin meets green vitriol and turns to ink for the pilgrim's road book. About eighty matters, every one part of a chain.
Gather the land
Each morning, gather in the garden, by the river and in the wood. Send a familiar for what lies far off. No place gives the same two days running.
Mend the house
The witch's house is a ruin, and a black cat waits on its doorstep. Mend it room by room and arrange it as you like. The villagers you help give you better tools.
Become a witch
The witches of the land test what you have learned as the seasons turn. The winter lantern fair decides whether the hat is yours for good. After it, the days and the brewing go on.
