About the game

A minimalist physics puzzle about timing. Click a joint to let it go: swing pieces, throw them and drop every last one off the screen. Ten chapters, each with a new rule, 200 levels, and a soundtrack that turns your clicks into music.

Original Steam description

Swingfall is a minimalist physics puzzle game. Little machines of joints and sticks hang on the screen. Click a joint and it lets go. The level is solved when everything has fallen off the screen.

What matters is when you click. Let a pendulum go at the top of its swing and it flies across the room. Let it go a moment later and it drops short of the bell it was meant to ring.

A new rule every chapter

Every chapter brings one new piece that changes how things move:

  • rings that catch whatever passes through them

  • gold that has to land in its nest

  • knots you can cut while they fly

  • rubber that slings things upward

  • hooks that grab a piece in mid-air

  • axles that stop a swing dead

  • a switch that turns gravity over

  • pistons that push

The last chapter puts them all together.

200 levels, tuned by hand

Early levels take a click or two. The last ones in a chapter can take dozens of tries. There are no timers and no score. Retry is instant: press Space and the level is back.

Your clicks are the music

The game has no recorded tracks. All sound is synthesized as you play, and every click, bell and catch lands on a note in the key of the background music. Play with headphones if you can.

Features

  • 200 levels in 10 chapters

  • a teaching level for every new mechanic

  • instant retry

  • light and dark themes, colour-blind-friendly shapes on every key

  • synthesized soundtrack that follows the game
