The surface has no room for some people. They live below.
Down in the dark, an underground city has grown around those who were pushed out: wet concrete, blue neon, and drains that run deeper than anyone talks about. Nothing reaches them from above unless someone carries it down.
That is the Rider's job. Take an order at the hub, go down, hand the goods over, come home and sleep. The client's name on every order is blacked out. Down there, not asking is the rule.
