Ashes of the Swarm

Ashes of the Swarm is an open-ended puzzle game about creating satisfying chain reactions through placing and aligning an ever-growing array of insects armed to the mandibles with dynamite, all in the name of destroying the encroaching enemy. Reach massive combo counts, manage your limited gold supply and avoid blowing up the increasingly annoyed bugs’ homes. Every puzzle is open-ended, so no singular solution exists for any level.

Set in the western frontier, you play as former telegraph operator and praying mantis Piper Fimbria. She has been pulled out of retirement (much to her chagrin) to help defend the inhabitants of her sleepy mining town, Sulphur Springs, from a band of marauding insects that have nicknamed themselves "The Minstrels".
