Shield-Bearer Ben

Coming soon

R.J. BrontsemaDiscovered Oct 14, 2026

About the game

A short incremental game where you play the TANK in a dungeon-finder party. Hold up your Big Shield, call out the red circles, and keep three teammates alive. Upgrade 120+ skills in a giant skill tree and take down the Demon Lord before tonight's patch deletes his dungeon.

Original Steam description

About This Game

Play as Ben, the tank, on the last night before a patch deletes the Demon Lord's dungeon forever. Somewhere at the bottom waits his legendary headpiece, and nobody has ever looted it. Your job is to keep your party alive: block what flies at them, pull enemies off them, and tell them when to get out of the fire. Joining you, courtesy of the dungeon matchmaker: an archer who catches arrows with his face, a wizard who stands in every circle, and a healer who hasn't played in ages.

Full disclosure: we played a lot of Healer Kale, and this game exists because of it. Ben is our take on that idea, built around the tank instead of the healer.

=== Hold the line ===

Raise your Big Shield and catch every arrow, rock and fireball flying past you at your friends.

[=== Babysit your party ===

Red circle on the ground? Your party will walk straight into it. Whistle to get signal them out, taunt the monsters off them, and shout for Mira to heal everyone.

=== Upgrade everything ===

Spend gold and skill points in a huge constellation of a skill tree: thicker shields, sharper arrows, meteors, arrow rain, and combos where your whole party works together.

=== Bring down the bosses ===

A Goblin Chief, a Magma Golem, a Brood Mother, a Sea Witch, a Lich, your own shadow, a Frost Wyrm, a giant wolf... and the Demon Lord himself. Every boss a new challenge.
