You are lost in the desert. Somewhere beneath the sand, something very large is moving. Your only hope is the next oasis. Tomorrow there will be another one, farther off.

Read the desert.

Every spider gives itself away before it strikes. The sand disturbs, ripples, and builds toward an eruption, and a rising rumble tells you how soon. Each spider type has its own warning. Learn them, and you can tell what is coming, where, and when.

Your weapon fires automatically. You control where you go. Each day is a run across open desert toward the oasis, threading between eruptions as they converge on your path. Stand still too long and the ground beneath you will notice.

Survive the surge. Then turn it around.

Fallen spiders leave XP behind, usually right where the next swarm is surfacing. Collect it to level up on the move, with no pause. Reach the oasis to restore your health and choose a new weapon or item for the trek ahead. Push far enough and your weapons evolve into something the spiders have never seen.

It gets bigger.

The thing beneath the sand is following you. Later, the spiders start to glow. Each day the desert gets longer and the swarm gets thicker. Your run lasts until you are rescued or the desert wins.
