About the game

Townworks is a friendly crafting town builder: design the machines, place your blueprints, and grow a riverside hamlet from crates to home computers. Draw a workshop by hand, belt by belt and arm by arm, then build it all over town.

Original Steam description

Townworks is a town builder on two levels: design a workshop's machinery by hand and grow your town by using those workshops to manufacture the products your town wants.

Design a workshop

Built your workshop using conveyor belts, arms and a ton of machines, from saws to blast furnaces to frame assemblers. Build your setup tile by tile in the most efficient way. The test bench will give you feedback on the performance; where the bottleneck is, what is running efficiently and how much total throughput it has.

Build it all over town

A finished design is a blueprint to a workshop that can be build in your town, place copies along your roads and buy trucks to carry the goods. You can refit the workshops with newer versions once you design those.

From crates to computers

Five eras take your town from crates and chairs to cars and home computers, and from windmills to a nuclear plant running on fuel rods you make produce in your workshops.

Seasonality

Leaves fall in autumn, and winter snow settles on roofs, fields and roads. Make sure your food stocks are filled and you're not too dependent on your waterwheels!

Fill the Town Museum

A building to celebrate your achievements, every era opens a new wing. Inside the first blueprint that made each good is on show.

Go big

Research brings bigger sheets, faster belts and new machines. Run twenty forge hammers and make 480 bells a minute. It's also possible to connect multiple workshops by using forklifts, eliminating the use of trucks and optimising the production rates.

There is no combat, and nothing catches fire or breaks down. There's also a sandbox mode that starts a town with unlimited coins and optionally all research unlocked.

Demo and release information
