Foldbound

A world folded from paper

Everything in Foldbound was folded from one great sheet of paper, and something has begun to cut it. Where the world tears, creatures with blades for jaws move in. A small paper knight wakes by a lantern in Fold Meadow and sets out to mend the folds.

Features

• A handmade papercut world. Every hill, hedge and creature is cut, layered and lit like a paper diorama, with torn edges, paper grain and soft shadows.

• Tight, forgiving platforming. Coyote time, jump buffering, variable jumps and wall slides. A fall into the thorns costs a heart, not your progress.

• A blade with some reach. Cut forward, up and down, bounce off enemies with a downward strike, and learn each creature's tell.

• Explore and unfold. Old shrines grant abilities that open new paths: Wall Grip, the Paper Plane Dash, Crane Wings, and one more you will have to find. Crack hidden walls, find paper hearts, and save up scraps for the tolls.

• Fair bosses. Five of them, each with its own tells. Slip through the Shearwing's shears, jump the Borewyrm's lunges, and wait out the Lanternmaw's flames for your opening.

• Lanterns, not checkpoints. Rest to heal and save; the map fills in as you explore.

• Music and sound made for paper. A music-box and kalimba score with a theme for every area, and crinkles, tears and folds for every step and strike.

• Steam achievements, cloud saves, Steam Deck and controllers. Sixteen achievements, saves that follow you, and full controller support with button prompts, sized for the Deck's screen.

• Five languages: English, Deutsch, Français, Español and 日本語.

Four areas, one great sheet

Fold Meadow's hedges and windmill, the dim Underleaf beneath the roots, the ember-lit Loft, and the Bindery, where the shears are kept. A compact adventure of two to three hours.
