About the game

Darkness is spreading through the forest, corrupting everything in its path. And somehow, it's up to you, a small regular gnome, to turn the tides. Fight against the odds and grow stronger while uncovering the secrets behind the corruption.

Original Steam description

A small gnome in a forest gone wrong.

It Takes One To Gnome It All is a hex-tile exploration RPG. Walk out of the village and into a forest that's started to turn against everyone living in it. Fights play out on their own, so the real decisions are where you step, what you risk, and what you spend.

  • Hex-tile maps, hidden until you explore them.

  • Fast-Paced Action. Fight, die, grow, retry.

  • Autobattle combat.

  • 5 biomes, each with its own dungeon, enemies, and boss.

  • Procedurally filled maps, so no two runs play out quite the same.

Every map starts hidden. Step onto a new tile and you might find resources, or fall straight into a trap.

  • Reveal neighboring hexes as you move, based on your Perception stat.

  • Traps, obstacles, lore notes and more are hidden throughout the forest.

One wrong step and you're in combat with an enemy. Build a gnome tough enough to win, however you like to play.

  • 10 kinds of forest creatures to fight, plus 5 bosses guarding their own dungeons.

  • Evasion, health, and attack upgrades to fight your own way.

  • Dungeons in every biome, with keys required to climb their floors.

Resources make your gnome stronger. Gather them, or free the Gnome Circle to gather them for you.

  • 8 resources to collect: pebbles, one unique resource per biome and two enemy drops.

  • Gnome Circle produces resources passively while you play.

  • +150 of upgrades across health, attack, evasion, perception, and more.
