Vern’s racing days are over, but his cars are waiting.

You stumble upon an old two-door parked outside with a note from Vern. He’s left you the keys and a chance to prove yourself. Beat his times to earn your way through his prized collection of rally classics, one car at a time. Each new set of keys brings a different car to master and another note from Vern.

Hardpack Rally is a single-player arcade rally game. Work through the career or chase the top spot in the daily leaderboard race. Slide through woodland bends, judge your braking over mountain crests, and string together a run that beats Vern’s time.

Start with the rear-wheel-drive Dimmer 1990cc.

Earn the keys to the all-wheel-drive Montara 92 hatchback, the powerful rear-wheel-drive Hayai Turbo coupe, and the Atlas Raid, a rugged AWD rally-raid machine built for long distances.

Each car brings a different balance of power and grip to master across point-to-point stages and circuits. Beat Vern’s target time in every event to unlock the next chapter.

Beat the Developer

Vern’s times earn you the keys. The developer’s records give you something tougher to chase.

Take on runs personally driven by Andre Gomes, the game’s developer. Beat every developer record for a car to unlock an exclusive livery and claim your bragging rights.

What’s in it

• Custom driving physics. Built from scratch and shaped by experience in sim racing and real-world driving. Easy to get comfortable behind the wheel, but carrying speed, controlling a slide, and putting together a fast stage take skill.

• Chase your best run. Race against a faithful replay of your own driving, with safeguards designed to keep your ghost accurate and consistent. Find the seconds you left behind.

• Watch it back. Stop for the view. Revisit a run from different camera angles, or frame your car and the surrounding landscape in photo mode.

• A change of scenery. Drive woodland roads, mountain passes, snowy hills, open desert, and more.

• Play your way. Drive with a keyboard, Xbox controller, or PS5 DualSense controller.

From the cars and environments to the driving physics and music, Hardpack Rally is built in-house, without purchased asset packs. It’s a solo project shaped by a love of driving and the satisfaction of getting a little quicker with every run.
