About the game

A rabbit, a jetpack and a lot of holes to dig. Collect every capsule, trap the robots, and hop from the launch pad to a black hole and up the Ascent across 37 levels. Three stars per level, ten time-trial sprints, a level editor. Old-school arcade platforming with a modern spring in its step.

Original Steam description

Dig. Trap. Hop.

Hoppernaut is an arcade platformer in the great tradition of ladders-and-bars games: collect every capsule in the level, then reach the door, while the robots hunt you down. Your only weapon is a shovel: dig a hole, watch a robot fall in, walk over its head. Holes fill back in after eight seconds, and whoever is inside gets pushed up through the earth: the famous elevator trick, and the tunnels that come with it.

Seven worlds, seven twists

  • The launch pad: learn the basics before liftoff.
  • The Moon: wide-open levels, more robots.
  • Mars: timed doors that open and close on a cycle.
  • Saturn: moving platforms and unbreakable blocks.
  • The station: paired teleporters and elevators.
  • The black hole: a gravitational tide reshapes the level every twelve seconds, erosion eats the bricks away, and the final level flips over.
  • The Ascent: seven vertical towers where water, lava and more rise beneath you, with checkpoints along the way. Then the endless tower, where only your height counts.

Made to be replayed

  • Three stars per level: cleared, without losing a life, under the reference time.
  • Ten time-trial sprints with gold, silver and bronze medals.
  • A magic carrot, a rechargeable jetpack, and a scoring system that rewards speed.
  • Profiles for the whole family, each with its own progress and language.
  • A level editor with teleporters, moving platforms, timed doors and a built-in playability check, plus a sample level to take apart: share your levels as plain text files.
