Owl Skips

Coming soon

About the game

Jokes end when the owl with a skipping rope appears. A cozy one-button roguelite with ridiculous builds and rope-fueled chaos. Charge jumps, stack wild upgrades, chase high scores, and try again. Just one more run. Probably.

Original Steam description

Jokes are jokes, until the owl with a skipping rope shows up. Then the laughing stops.

All someone had to do was pick a number from one to five. They picked two. Now a children's picture card has a backstory, an entire family has a prophecy, and the owl has its own Steam game. Two was an unfortunate choice.

Owl Skips. That cursed card reading you somehow decided to install.

The deck had flamingos at a supermarket, a magician tiger, and a boxing dolphin. An entire zoo of possibilities. But out came the owl, and the self-appointed fortune-teller announced: “Your whole family is in for something TERRIBLE the day after tomorrow.” What a comforting prediction.

You looked at that and asked: “Okay, but is there gameplay?”

There is.

The owl jumps. The forest is pretty. The music is peaceful. Ignore the prophet's voice in your head and it's actually quite cozy.

Card upright: the owl jumps. Card reversed: the owl has jumped its last. Shuffle. Try again. Another owl. Apparently this deck was made just for you.

Collect upgrades, build up your score multiplier, and slowly convince yourself that another skipping rope is exactly what you need. One bad omen isn't enough anymore. You want a build.

Three ropes on screen. You're delighted. The fortune-teller can take the night off. You've already predicted your own downfall.

Then the owl gets smacked, and everything falls into place. The card was right. The reading checks out.

Luckily, there's a restart button.

And suddenly you've spent forty minutes trying to prove a children's picture card wrong.

Add Owl Skips to your wishlist. Better not put it off until the day after tomorrow.
