Oryginalny opis ze Steam

This is a mystery-romance story set during the period of the Dali Kingdom, amid [Xiaguan’s wind, Shangguan’s flowers, Cangshan’s snow, and Erhai’s moon].

Yangjumie City, after Nanzhao, still served as the capital of the Dali Kingdom and was the political, economic, and cultural center of ancient Yunnan. You are an orphan girl who grew up in Gantong Temple, a subordinate temple of Chongsheng Temple. You know how to identify medicinal herbs and have helped many common people around Cangshan and Erhai—until an attack on Gantong Temple completely shatters your peaceful life…

After the Dali Kingdom passed to Duan Zhengyan, royal power was no longer what it had once been. Although the Duan clan still occupied the imperial throne, actual control over court affairs had long rested in the hands of the Gao chancellors, known to the world as the “Gao Sovereign.” The Gao clan held the hereditary title “Duke of Zhongguo,” and all affairs issued from their house; the Duan clan possessed only empty titles. Meanwhile, although the alliance of the Thirty-Seven Wuman Tribes of eastern Yunnan maintained an oath-bound relationship with the Dali Kingdom, control over them was quite loose. Once royal power weakened, each tribe began to harbor its own ulterior motives.

In religion, the Dali Kingdom called itself the “Buddhist Kingdom of Wondrous Fragrance,” and the whole country revered Buddhism; many rulers of successive generations abdicated to become monks. But Buddhism in Dali was not simply the Han transmission of the Central Plains. Rather, after Tantric Buddhism entered, it merged with local beliefs, Daoism, and Confucianism to form the Azhali sect. This sect emphasized both exoteric and esoteric teachings and was deeply secularized. From the royal family and nobility above to the villagers and common people below, all were influenced by it. Yet the Azhali sect was not internally monolithic.

Amid this turbulent political situation, you have already been deeply drawn into it. It seems that only by finding the final truth can the restless Dali Kingdom be restored to peace.

Who are you?

Shen Qingluan (name can be changed) | An orphan girl, gentle outside and resolute inside

“I treat people without asking where they come from, but my own origins—I should be the one to find out.”

An orphan raised in Gantong Temple, she knows herbs, copies scriptures, and rings bells. She is gentle by nature yet has a mind of her own. Her greatest wish is simply to open an apothecary, but after Gantong Temple is attacked, she is pushed into the Cang’er chess game. Between being fought over, protected, and used, she must learn to make her own choices.

Romanceable Characters:

Duan Wujiu | A gentle, taciturn young monarch

“I can distrust anyone, but I cannot bring myself to distrust you.”

A direct descendant of the Duan clan of Dali and nominal monarch, in truth confined to Yangjumie City. He is used to carrying responsibility on his shoulders and keeping trust outside the door. He guards the last dignity of the Duan clan and the Cang’er Seal; between duty and personal desire, he wants to live for himself for the first time.

Duan Guhong | An elegant, deep-minded collateral member of the Duan clan

“The Duan surname has given me too much—but it never gave me a reason I could confess.”

Duan Wujiu’s younger male cousin, enfeoffed in Weichu. Elegant and composed, deep in thought, he is forever pursued by the shadow of “inheritance rights.” He is skilled at hiding his true feelings behind probing words and jokes; his first encounter with you seems like a scheme, but later it is no longer entirely false.

Cuan Lian | A dangerous, free-spirited tribal warrior

“Most things in this world are boring—until you make me want to lose once.”

Leader of the remnant Cuan clan, the strongest warrior raised in the southern frontier. He believes neither in Buddhism nor in loyalty, only in what is “interesting”; he does not play by the rules and is unwilling to stop for anyone. He could have treated you as a bargaining chip, but gradually comes to feel that you are more worth protecting than the chess game.

Ouyang Che | A stubborn, upright Buddhist practitioner

“I thought I was protecting Buddhism, until I realized I could not even say clearly what I was protecting.”

A practitioner of Wuwei Temple, outwardly an investigator (spy) of Yangjumie City. He treats belief as a blade, and himself as a blade as well; ordered to monitor three parties, yet amid protection and pursuit, misunderstanding and manhunt, he begins to doubt the “glory” he defends.

Mu Qing | A cheerful, composed female head of household

“I can calculate the accounts on the Tea Horse Road, but I cannot calculate your weight in my heart.”

Female head of the Mu Manor, controlling the Lijiang section of the Tea Horse Road. Cheerful and unrestrained, yet gentle and patient with you; her mature sense of propriety is her weapon, and also the composure with which she bears an old case on her shoulders.

??? | An aloof, distant hidden chess player

“When too many pieces have been placed, there is always one that one cannot bear to discard.”

Beneath a scholarly air lies hidden sharpness; with one person’s strength, this figure leverages the Cang’er chess game. A hidden character for the final chapter—identity and purpose await your discovery.

Gameplay Features

360° look-around, panoramic scene investigation experience

The game uses a 360-degree rotatable scene perspective. Players can freely rotate the view and observe details in scenes such as Yangjumie City, the lower courtyard of Chongsheng Temple, and the apothecary. Scenes are not merely backdrops, but part of the narrative. Rotate the view, and clues and character emotions will emerge from the corners.

Lightweight apothecary management, protecting her small wish

Shen Qingluan wants to open an apothecary that heals the sick and helps the injured. You can participate in management elements such as gathering and identifying herbs, compounding prescriptions, inventory and pricing, receiving customers, and building reputation. The apothecary is not a standalone minigame detached from the main story: customers who come and go bring rumors from the city, and management choices also reflect her wish to “live for herself.” Running the apothecary well is also a way to preserve a bit of her daily life amid the chaos.

Narrative, investigation, and management advance in alternation

The main investigation advances the Cang’er chess game; 360° scene exploration is used to discover details and clues; apothecary management provides breathing room and character interaction. The three alternate, giving the story both the pressure of faction rivalry and the daily life of herbal fragrance and a small shop.
