About the game

Build a deck of towers, buildings, and spells to defend your town against endless waves. Grow your economy, upgrade your defenders, and try new combinations on random maps. Play solo or with a friend, and meet Grimlane's characters in the story campaign.

Original Steam description
Grimlane is a pixel-art tower defense game with card decks and endless waves. Build a town beside the road, grow its economy, and prepare your defenses for ever-stronger enemies. Each random map gives you new positions to work with and new choices about where to spend your gold.

Choose a premade deck or build your own from towers, buildings, and spells. Back up your knights with archers, assemble a team of mages, or trust the road to laser-firing cats. Your deck determines which cards reach your hand, while extra copies upgrade your towers and unlock new abilities.

While your defenders hold the road, lumberjacks gather wood, a mill processes wheat, and a caravan carries goods between buildings. Grow your economy and spend your earnings on new towers and upgrades. Split your gold between the town's growth and its defenses: decide when you can afford to expand and when the next attack needs your attention.

In endless mode, enemies grow stronger with each wave, and every tenth wave brings a boss. Upgrade your towers, shore up weak spots, and get more out of your best card combinations. Start a new run and the roads, water, and building sites will change — even your favorite deck will need a fresh layout.

Defend outposts and mining settlements, meet the characters, and gradually unlock new cards for your deck. Dialogue and an ongoing story connect the campaign's missions, each with its own conditions and objectives.

Bring a friend, build two towns on the same field, and hold the line together. Your roads cross and your lives are shared, so a breakthrough on either side puts both players at risk.
