About the game

Scrapline is a third-person wave-survival roguelite shooter. Rogue robots fill a live-fire range, and you have one gun. Pick a weapon aspect: Bounce, Turrets, Burn or Blast. Spend salvage, pick one of 20 characters with real trade-offs, survive 20 waves, then chase your Endless record.

Original Steam description

Scrapline is a third-person wave-survival roguelite. The industrial robots on a live-fire range have gone rogue. You are the contractor sent to clear them out, and you have one gun.

Fight a wave, grab the salvage, level up, hit the supply station. 20 waves, and no two runs play the same.

THE RHYTHM OF A RUN

  • Fight a wave: robots pour into the range from every side. Hold out until the timer hits zero.
  • Collect salvage: kills drop salvage, and it flies to you when you get close.
  • Level up: pick one of four upgrades to boost a stat.
  • Hit the supply station: four slots. Reroll them, or lock one in.

FOUR WEAPON ASPECTS

Pick a weapon aspect before each run.

  • Bounce: rounds ricochet from enemy to enemy.
  • Turrets: deploy turrets as you fight. Whatever you shoot, they shoot.
  • Burn: hits set enemies on fire, and a burning enemy passes the fire to its neighbors when it dies.
  • Blast: grenades explode on impact, and every enemy in the radius takes the same damage.

Aspects don't mix. Once you pick one, weapon mods for the other aspects stop appearing on the shelf.

THE SHOP IS HALF THE GAME

Every wave ends at the supply station. Rerolls cost salvage, and a lock holds an item for the next wave. Spend it all now, or save up for that expensive one? Many items are trade-offs: one stat goes up, another goes down.

20 CHARACTERS, EACH WITH A TRADE-OFF

Every character brings a set of stat bonuses, and a drawback that really costs you.

  • Landlord: earns interest at the start of each wave and hits harder the more salvage you hold. The cost: items are pricier and enemies drop less salvage.
  • Anchor: much stronger while standing still, weaker once on the move.
  • Bounty Hunter: one extra elite every wave, and elites drop lots of salvage. The cost: elites are tougher and normal enemies drop less.
  • Ironclad: high HP and heavy armor. The cost: no dodge, no healing and lower damage.
  • Vampire: high lifesteal. The cost: no natural regeneration, and you lose HP over time.

ROBOTS THAT FIGHT BACK

Some chase you down, some keep their distance and shoot, some wind up and charge, some swarm in packs. Then there are elites and bosses.

ENDLESS MODE

Clear wave 20 and keep going. The difficulty keeps rising, until the only thing left to beat is your own record.
