Original Steam description
Who says five stones have to form a straight line?
A boot, a butterfly, a cross-shaped flower… Think beyond the line and build your way to victory! In Shape Gomoku, players take turns placing stones to form target patterns with five stones of one color. Plan your next move—and watch for the opportunities your opponent is quietly building.
Choose your targets before the first move
Pick from twelve built-in patterns or let the game choose at random. Single-player and local matches support one to six targets, adjustable board sizes, and the option to allow rotations and reflections. With fixed orientation, match the pattern exactly as shown. Enable transformations, and opportunities can appear in more directions.
Three modes, three ways to compete
Classic: Both players share the same targets. Be the first to complete any one of them to win.
Race: Complete more distinct target patterns within five minutes. Equal scores result in a draw.
Secret Targets: Each player has different hidden targets. Read your opponent’s moves for clues, then review the replay after the match.
Play on your own or challenge a friend
Face Easy or Hard BOTs, take turns with a friend on the same computer, or invite a Steam friend to a two-player online match. Each turn gives you 90 seconds to think. If time runs out, the game places a stone at random. Online play requires both players to own the game and have an internet connection.
Find your own style, one move at a time
Learn the rules through the tutorial and practice your observation and tactics across 23 puzzles. When you need a little help, enable optional text hints or visual markers.
Earn in-game points through eligible matches and progression goals to unlock avatars, board backgrounds, stones, and music. Before starting a match, you can preview the points available with your chosen settings and pick the challenge that suits you.
A warm wood-and-cream pixel-art table invites you to take another look at the board. What could your next stone become?
