Cook Or Get Cooked

A cooking game where you do the cooking

You are a chef on a television cooking contest. You make real dishes from scratch, under a clock, and hand them to a judge who eats them in front of you and marks them out of a hundred. Lowest mark of the round goes home.

Three named dishes get you on the show. After that each round sets a different challenge and leaves the cooking to you.

A service

• Fetch it. Six storerooms, five things in your hands at a time.

• Prep it. Wash, peel, chop, hold the knife down and it cuts at its own rate.

• Cook it. Four rings, an oven, a tap, and a bin for the mistakes.

• Plate it. You arrange the food yourself, and he marks that too.

Every ingredient goes through its states in order. A steak has two sides and each browns on its own. Drop something on the floor and the jugde will taste it.

He eats it in front of you

Serve him something bland and he reaches for the salt and fixes it himself.

Overdo the chilli and he breathes fire.

Make something poisonous and a headstone rises behind the counter.

Fifteen reactions and a mark out of a hundred for the ingredients, the cooking, the seasoning and the look of it.

Every round is a different challenge

Sometimes you are handed the ingredients. Sometimes the pantry is shut and you cook whatever is on your bench. Sometimes the cooks who beat you last round pick the meat first and more challenges...

8 rounds. 1 champion. One goes home every round. Go home and they lower you into a cauldron.
