Late 90s. Davelia is turning into a corporate authoritarian state. State corporations are strangling the market. The law has become a commodity. Justice has lost the presumption of innocence and turned into an instrument of statism.
You are the Deputy Chief Prosecutor. Your goal is to pay off your mortgage. Your tool is other people's prison sentences. Your conscience is your problem.
Study cases. Listen to the accused. Read the newspapers. Hand down verdicts. Guilty verdicts earn you money. Too harsh verdicts cost you reputation. If your reputation hits zero, you'll be thrown into the same prison you've been sending others to. Good luck.
