Where Memory Fails is a dark fantasy memory-and-deduction roguelite played across a concealed dungeon grid.
Every floor gives you limited health, limited steps, and incomplete information. Study the clues, remember what you have seen, and choose your route carefully—the wrong tile may cost far more than a single move.
READ THE DUNGEON
Use the remaining tile counts and the information you uncover to judge what may be hiding ahead. Treasure can strengthen your run, but traps and hostile encounters can end it. Every reveal is a calculated risk.
REMEMBER WHAT THE DARKNESS HIDES
The board tests more than luck. Track important locations, reconstruct safe paths, and adapt when the dungeon interferes with your plans. A sharp memory can be as valuable as another point of health.
MAKE EVERY STEP COUNT
Your movement is limited. Search too cautiously and you may run out of steps; rush forward and you may lose your health. Find the exit and reach it before the floor closes around you.
BUILD YOUR SURVIVOR
Choose an archetype with a distinct approach to danger. Develop passive skills that improve movement, reveal information, protect you from mistakes, or reward calculated risks. Shape each run around the strengths you discover.
CHANGE YOUR ODDS
Treasure is more than a score. Spend your gold in the secret shop to recover health, gain additional steps, reveal tiles, identify danger, or purchase the hint that keeps your run alive.
DESCEND INTO THE UNKNOWN
Each new floor asks you to balance memory, deduction, risk, and limited resources. Learn the dungeon’s language, refine your strategy, and push deeper into a place designed to make certainty impossible.
