Your mother is waiting for surgery. You still need 15,500 baht, and you have 13 nights to earn it. An anonymous broker offers you work: go to shrines on behalf of clients, give what they promised, and send back a photo to get paid.

The job comes with an old notebook. It belonged to the person who did this work before you.

A game of reading and deduction

Kaebon is a slow, thoughtful puzzle game. You look at still scenes, read documents, and work out the answer yourself. There is no free roaming and no chase. The tension comes from getting it right before time runs out.

Look closer. Piece the evidence together.

Investigate photographs through an old camera: switch images, zoom in, adjust brightness and compare traces with the present-day scene. Reassemble torn photographs and notebook pages to uncover clues for yourself before choosing the offerings.

The instructions tell one story. The clues tell another.

What a client tells you may not match what you find. Examine the site, inspect old offerings, count the incense holes, and compare everything with your predecessor's notebook. Work out what the ritual needs and what it must never include.

Budget, time, and a decision

Buy supplies within the client's budget, arrange the offerings, and choose how many incense sticks to light. Every extra clue and every trip back to the shop costs time. Each night you decide when you are sure enough to act.
