Something sleeps beneath the roots.
Wurzeltiefe ("Rootdeep") is a deliberately compact metroidvania: a descent through painterly caverns with individually designed rooms shaped by light, water and rock.
Honestly: one run takes 2–3 hours. Wurzeltiefe doesn't want to fill a hundred hours — it wants every minute to land.
Early Access: the game is fully playable today, start to credits. We plan to add a third area and further improvements. Our current target is Q2 2027; scope and timing may change.

- 26 painted rooms across two areas, from the dripping deep to the sunlit root crown
- Five abilities that change the way back: climbing claw, storm dash, ghost wing, stone fist, glide
- Two boss fights with distinct phases and patterns
- Game feel first: coyote time, jump buffering, soft camera, hitstop — everything you feel rather than see
- Speedrun timer & best times, fully optional
- Full gamepad support, English and German
- Adjustable graphics settings
