About the game

Swing, saw and squash your way through a procedurally generated world in this medieval physics soulslike. You've fallen down an endless wishing well with nothing but a rope and far too much momentum.

Original Steam description

One rope. One thousand ways down

Wishknot is a procedurally generated rope physics 2D platformer with soulslike runs. Fall deep into an endless cavern, collect tears, wishes, defeat bosses, upgrade characters and extract survivors.

A world of chaos

Scattered through the dark are secrets, wishes, and lost characters waiting to be found. Reach them, tow them home, and unlock new abilities for future descents.

Collect stars, unlock enchantments, and adapt to curses that change how your run unfolds.  Anything caught on your rope can become a weapon, an obstacle, or your next anchor.

Slip past enemies quietly or make an entrance that brings the cavern down on you. Noise draws attention, and enemies can merge into larger threats. Every encounter gives you another reason to improvise.

  • One physical rope: swing, anchor, tow, snare, sling, and crush.

  • Terrain you can reshape: open routes and turn the environment into part of your attack.

  • Momentum you can master: physics-driven encounters shaped by mass, tension, collisions, and terrain

  • Builds that change your approach: combine enchantments across rope, thrust, health, and time.

  • Stars and curses: discover new powers and adapt to dangerous changes.

  • Slow motion and rewind: give yourself time to react or rethink your approach.

  • Playable entirely with a mouse: precision movement with your controls close at hand.

  • Built-in replays and MP4/GIF exports: keep your best escapes and most spectacular disasters.
