Something Really Evil Inc. is a real-time strategy roguelike about hacking an office. Delay the evilest of their projects, and get them cancelled by placing just the right hacks to distract workers, all while staying undetected by security.

The Crew

Four characters and their mysterious leader recruit you and aid you every week. Chat with them in your downtime and get to know them, and depend on them during the week to help you accomplish your goal.

Piper is the CEO's assistant secretly working against her. She gathers lots of important information for you, like what you can expect each day, and tracks the impact you are having on their progress.

Hank is the software expert, writing up the new hacks you will be using. The basic hacks are his tried and tested work, but you'll be thankful for his more advanced hacks as the week goes on.

Fluffypaw is a tinkerer, and loves making just about anything work. Each day, he prepares a few trinkets for you to choose from, each with a unique effect to make your job easier.

Gina bounces around, helping out everyone when they need it. For you, she has special "Challenge" hacks that won't be easy to deploy, but will grant the team great value when the day ends.

The Enemy

Yvonne is the real target. At first glance, she is just another CEO, but there are a few things uniquely odd about her situation. She has fans, the support of the government, everything. All while being heartless and business-cruel. It's confounding! However, her short temper will be her downfall. Just one project delay, one timeline miss, and she will crash out and blame anyone and everyone. If this happens enough, maybe the world will finally realize just how evil she and her company really are.

The Office

The office is full of electronic devices! The workers need them, but you do too! Place generator hacks to earn a currency called "KeyBits" that will be needed for all your hacking. Place distraction hacks to pop up memes on devices to stop workers from using them. Plenty of utility-type hacks exist that can benefit you, or hinder the workers in other ways. However, to keep security from catching on and shutting you out, use shroud hacks. Target the most productive workers, time your effects, and discover combinations and synergies to make the most of your limited space and resources!
