GRAVE SLIDE is a puzzle roguelike set in a dark fantasy world. You climb the Tower floor by floor. Floors are assembled from hand-made rooms, so every run is different. When you die, the run ends: you return to camp, spend the obols you collected on upgrades and potions, and start again.
MOVEMENT
The knight moves only by sliding. Choose a direction, and he slides until he hits a wall, an enemy or an object. Sliding into an enemy kills it.
Every cell you pass costs blood. Visited cells and killed enemies raise the Blood Tide, which lowers the blood cost of leaving the floor. Each room comes down to choosing a route: where to stop, which enemies to hit and how much blood to spend.
FIVE AGES
The Tower is divided into five ages. Each age has its own rooms, enemies, traps and mechanics. Some examples from Egypt: a pharaoh fires a beam down his lane every two seconds, a shield-bearer can only be killed from the side or from behind and turns after each of your moves, and levers open and close gates that crush whoever stands in them.
STORY
Between runs you return to a camp outside the Tower. A knight and a merchant live there, and their stories continue as you climb higher. Inside the Tower you meet historical figures from each age, such as Khufu and Hatshepsut, who give you items and quests.
