Little Colony

What is it?

A little ant colony that lives along the edge of your monitor while you do other things. Dock it to the bottom of your screen, the side, go full screen, or a little window of its own, and keep it on top. Underneath the hill is a slice of earth, and in it a colony that digs, farms, forages and tries to survive whatever the year throws at it. Look over and something new is going on.

How do I play?

Use your mouse to paint the instructions. Paint scent lines to dig tunnels and rooms to handle tasks.

• Paint a line and the ants dig a tunnel along it.

• Paint a room and they dig it out and put it to work. Pantries fill with food, farms grow crops, and more.

• Send a party out on an expedition and they come home carrying food or decorations for your garden

That is it. You give the orders and everything else just happens.

What happens while I'm away?

The colony keeps going. Day turns to night, seasons change, winter freezes the ground, and the fire ants come looking for your Pantry and Larvae. Trouble comes from what you dug, what you grew, and what you left unexplored. Ants can die... but that's ok, they can be replaced with enough time and food.

Can I decorate?

You can send the ants off to procure decorations for your garden. Gather as many items as you want and arrange them how you see fit. The garden will sprout fun things over time, keep sending the ants out and see what they bring back.
