About the game
Bill climbed the Abyss Tower for cash. Freeing minds in red chains became a rescue he never meant. A comic SRPG of grid tactics and decks. Eight companions seek resurrection. What will they choose?
Original Steam description

He will take any job that pays. But this one is a little strange.
Bill, a mercenary out of Sector 5, goes around with a broken shard of Red Chain wrapped around his wrist. The job he took was "experiment remnants recovery."
But those "remnants" turned out to be residual consciousnesses bound in Red Chains. Beings that weigh a single gram of soul and remember nothing but their own names.
The pay is 3,000g in gold coins each. Bill decides to cut the chains, put them to work, and haul them back.
The problem is that his companions have taken him for their benefactor, and they believe it absolutely.
Trusting the promise Bill tossed off — "reach the top and your soul will be made whole" — they climb the tower with him. None of them knowing what shape that promise will take when it is kept.
The chronicle of a climb shared by a venal mercenary and the companions who misread him: the same road, different dreams.
A comic SRPG that adds deckbuilding to grid tactics: RE:CHAINED ~Links of Redemption~

■ Where to stand, and which card to play
Grid-based turn combat with a party of four: Bill and three companions.
Every turn you choose where to stand and which card to play, and that judgment decides the match.
■ Change the deck, change the role
Combine Equipment, Skill and Tool cards to build each companion differently.
Even the same companion takes on a completely different role once you change the deck.
■ A calculating leader, companions who mean it
To Bill, companions are nothing more than entries in a profit-and-loss column. But the companions take even that calculation as dependable leadership.
Affinity builds up separately for each companion, and the more it builds, the more you come face to face with another side of companions who only ever seemed cheerful.
3D grid combat and 2D illustrated scenes alternate to carry the story forward.

■ Cut the Red Chain, and an enemy becomes a companion
Defeat an opponent consumed by the chains, cut the Red Chain, and you can welcome that residual consciousness as a companion.
The opponent you were fighting a moment ago stands on your side in the next battle.
■ Up the tower, with companions worth caring about!
Adorable to look at, and every one of them with a personality all their own!
Meet the companions who will climb the tower alongside Bill. From their gestures in battle to their expressions in conversation, there is plenty of charm to discover.
