Majulah: Shape Your City – Prologue

Your first term starts now, and it's free. Majulah: Prologue is the opening chapter of Majulah: Shape Your City, a roguelite city builder about growing a tiny island into a nation and getting re-elected while you do it. Majulah means "onward" in Malay, and that is the plan: onward, one Election at a time.

Plan every block

Each year you place blueprints on the island, and where they go is everything. Offices pay more in chains. Diners reward a city with variety. Bus Stops and Train Stations join up into Interchanges. Schools, Shopping Malls and apartment blocks all care about their neighbours and their district.

Press Majulah. Watch it add up.

Every building scores, then every Cabinet Member triggers on top. Some add Support, some multiply it, and some make a whole district score again. Base Score times Multiplier becomes your Support for the year, and Support turns into Votes. A good city scores thousands. A great one scores millions.

Recruit a Cabinet that bends the rules

Spend your Money in the Shop on blueprints, Cabinet Members and Booster Packs. Crack open a pack, read the cards and pick the ones that fit your city. Each Cabinet Member has one rule: the Barista fuels the business district, the scrap collector turns clutter into cash, the CEO loves Offices, and Suki The Cat multiplies your Support every few years for reasons nobody understands. Find the right two or three and your city starts scoring itself.

Survive the Political Climate

From the third Election Term, a Political Climate changes the rules. A Political Scandal benches one of your Cabinet Members every year while the investigation runs its course. A Recession halves your Money every year. A Pandemic halves every building except homes. A Strong Opposition Party doubles the Votes you need. Adapt, or lose your seat.

Win the vote

Every three years the island goes to the polls. Watch Parliament fill seat by seat as the Votes come in. Beat the Votes Required and you serve another term. Fall short and the run is over. Each run is a fresh island, a fresh shop and a fresh Cabinet.
