About the Game

**The Last Imperial Guard** is a 2.5D turn-based tactical Wuxia RPG adapted from the classic Chinese literary masterpiece, *Water Margin* (Outlaws of the Marsh).

Step into the shoes of Lin Chong, Arms Instructor of the 800,000 Imperial Guards, and experience his tragic epic firsthand. Featuring traditional Chinese art style, cinematic storyboard cutscenes, and brand-new companion characters, the game faithfully presents his legendary journey from framed outcast to driven outlaw on Mount Liang—while giving you the power to rewrite his destiny.

**Defensive Stance & Parrying**

Defense is more than passive damage mitigation. By entering a **Defensive Stance**, you can execute a timed **Parry** right as an enemy strikes (with only one chance per attack window). A successful Parry negates incoming damage, triggers an immediate counterattack that shatters enemy armor, grants 1 Parry Point, and generates massive Rage. Every character features distinct Parry effects, and Parry Points are key to unleashing ultimate abilities.

**Rage-Driven Tactical Combat**

Attacking, taking hits, blocking, and parrying all build up Rage. When your Rage gauge overflows, activate **Berserk Mode** to unleash two turns of devastating burst damage. The price? Inability to defend during Berserk Mode and temporary exhaustion afterward—balancing risk and reward in every decision.

**Flexible Skill Building**

Level up to unlock new martial arts techniques. With limited skill slots, tactical trade-offs are vital: **Normal State → Build Rage → Berserk Form → High Offense / Low Defense**. Customize your playstyle through skill builds—whether you prefer a Berserk Burst build, a Parry Counter build, or a Crowd Control build, forge a Lin Chong uniquely your own.

**Original Companions & Martial Bonds**

Immerse yourself in a complete main storyline enriched with original companion characters. Companions possess distinct stats and specialized classes, including **Vanguard Arhat, Spearman, Swordsman, Assassin, Archer, and Wandering Heroine**. Your choices shape the narrative, faithfully recreating iconic moments from *Water Margin* alongside rich side quests. Later in the journey, unlock the **Martial Bond System** to perform joint strikes, pincer attacks, and combined ultimate abilities. Deepen your bonds to form sworn brotherhoods or romantic alliances.

**Dynamic Character Costumes**
