Build a nightlife empire one event at a time. Book the night, stock the bars, open the doors, and turn a rough room into the hottest venue in town - then do it all again somewhere bigger.

Before the doors open - Pick tonight's event, take the crates off the delivery dock, haul them to the bars and pour the counters full, put your crew on their posts, and fit the room out. Whatever you forget now, you fix with a queue already outside.

Work the floor yourself - Stand at the till and take the entry money, pour the drinks, mix the cocktails, take coats over the counter, sweep up after them. Every post can be crewed instead - or benched, and then the job is yours.

Every guest wants something - They come in thirsty, get hungry, need the toilets, want their jacket back at the end. VIPs want the lounge, troublemakers want a fight, and the night's guest star wants a stocked bar and a clean floor before they will say a good word about you.

Stock runs out - Four drinks to a crate, twelve to a bar, two crates in your arms and only so many slots on the rack. Sell fast enough and you spend the night carrying boxes.

Count the night - The doors close, the takings land, and what came in tonight pays for tomorrow: more crew, more counter space, better decor, and eventually a bigger room.

Survive the night - Police raids, blown fuses, surprise headliners. No two nights run the same.

• A supply chain with a limit at every step - the delivery dock fills a crate rack that starts at two slots, you carry two crates at a time, a bar holds twelve drinks, and a counter holds only as many poured glasses as its rack has room for

• Eight things guests pay for - entry, drinks, long drinks, cocktails, VIP bottles, snacks, the cloakroom and the photo booth - each with its own price, its own stock and its own queue

• A prep phase, a night in three acts, and a close-out: stock and staff the room before the doors, work it while it is full, then spend the takings before the next one

• More than 20 stations to run - beer bar, cocktail counter, VIP bottle service, cash desk, cloakroom, food truck, photo booth, show stage

• Over 20 crew roles, each trained up over five levels, and a lot of upgrades to buy - faster tills, bigger glass racks, more coat rails, extra crate slots, better prices

• More than 30 decor pieces, three levels each, to raise a venue's ambience and start every night hotter

• Guests with their own thirst, hunger, patience and mood, plus VIPs, troublemakers and nine named guest stars who each want the night run their way
