Original Steam description
A number has taken the place of your name: 4471.
The cameras track you. Behind the glass, the experiments continue.
SUBJECT 4471 is a free single-player sci-fi horror game experienced through the eyes of a test subject trying to escape an AI-controlled research complex. Study patrols, find hiding places and plan your next move. Complete each sector’s objectives and authorization procedures as you discover what the facility has been hiding.
Listen Before You Move
Mutated researchers wander the corridors. BOT-4000 units watch over restricted areas. The biological weapon S10000 waits behind containment.
Pay attention to sightlines and nearby sounds. Take shelter inside lockers or restroom stalls. When a pursuit begins, use doors and the surrounding architecture to create distance and break line of sight.
Find Another Route
Connected ventilation ducts on floors 2–5 offer alternatives to dangerous corridors. Approach an indoor ladder from the front to open the hatch and climb automatically. A single descent action opens the cover and takes you down, with the hatch closing after arrival.
Choose your movements carefully: footsteps inside metal ducts can carry to the floor below.
Make Your Supplies Last
Your flashlight and motion detector consume batteries. Search storage areas for replacements and medical supplies, and manage what you carry. Decide when to illuminate a dark passage, check for movement or find enough breathing room to heal.
Operate the Facility
Work with power circuits, cooling equipment and security systems to obtain clearance for the next sector. Completing an objective does not guarantee immediate passage: exit authorization pauses while a threat is pursuing you. Lose your pursuers before returning to the terminal.
Follow the Records
Explore laboratories, surveillance areas, sealed containment rooms and towering production machinery. Documents and environmental details reveal what happened here—and your connection to it.
Controls Built for Urgent Moments
Expanded interaction areas make doors, drawer fronts and wall controls easier to use. Improved short-press handling helps actions register as you approach. A closing manual door can immediately reopen with another press.
Customize keyboard and mouse-button bindings, sensitivity and camera-shake settings to suit your preferences.
