About the game

What would you say to a goblin if you could speak to it in your own words? Bribe it, lie to it, threaten it... or just chop its head off. Warrior Quest is an old-school dark-fantasy dungeon crawler where you can fight, sneak, bluff, or bargain your way through. Whatever you do, roll well!

Original Steam description

Play a D&D-style adventure where you can actually say whatever you want to NPCs, and the game understands you.

Warrior Quest is a dark-fantasy dungeon crawler for what people love about tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons*: trying your own ideas and seeing how the world reacts, without having to gather a group. Fight, sneak, deceive, bargain, recruit, threaten, or try something completely different.

Warrior Quest is a Living RPG (LRPG), not a chatbot in a Dungeon Master costume. Diplomacy is wired into the game engine. What you say and agree to can change relationships, objectives, alliances, access, and the state of the world. The game keeps track of your abilities, your gear, and the deals you make, and the dice decide what works.

The AI and the voices run on your own PC, offline. No internet needed while you play.

PLAY THE FREE DEMO

The demo is act I of the full game, about an hour long, and your save carries over to the full release. Create your character, explore the dungeon, lie to a goblin and, most importantly... roll well.

Your Choices Define the Story

Warrior Quest is built around player agency.

Many encounters can be fought, avoided, sneaked past, talked through, or solved some other way. You can get through much of the game peacefully. Violence, deception, greed, and cruelty all have consequences.

You are not required to be the hero. You are responsible for deciding who your character becomes.

Choose Your Adventurer

Play as one of three distinct classes, each offering its own abilities, equipment preferences, and approach to danger:

  • Warrior

  • Thief

  • Wizard

Your class shapes how you confront the world, but it does not decide your personality or morality. Any adventurer can negotiate, deceive, show mercy, recruit allies, or choose violence.

A Complete Mini-Campaign

Warrior Quest is structured like a tabletop mini-campaign: longer and more involved than a one-shot, but more focused than a sprawling full campaign.

Different classes, backgrounds, routes, and improvised diplomacy choices provide reasons to return and tell a different version of the story.

Built by an Engineer and a Dungeon Master

Warrior Quest is created by a solo developer with a decade of experience in both software engineering and running tabletop campaigns.

It combines authored rules, dice systems, characters, and persistent world states with the freedom to improvise.

The writing, artwork, music, sound, and original voice performances were created by the developer. The LLM behind its diplomacy system is used only as a gameplay mechanic, not as a substitute for creating the game.
