About the game

In Chise, an abandoned village overrun by spirits after a ritual talisman was lost, a tsukumogami—an animated Hina doll spirit—and a university student searching for the talisman team up to unravel the mysteries slumbering within this horror exploration adventure.

Original Steam description

Sensei Village is an abandoned settlement quietly nestled deep in the mountains. Long ago, "pacifying charms" were buried at key locations throughout the village to soothe the souls of the dead; however, someone has since dug them up, and they have gone missing.

With the charms gone, the spirits that were meant to be kept at rest have begun to spill out—the charms must be found and returned to their original places.

The protagonist is a Hina doll that was once cherished by a family in Sensei Village. Imbued with the feelings she held for her owner, she has transformed into a *tsukumogami* (an object possessed by a spirit) and is now venturing out of the forest in search of the "former owner" who once adored her.

Along the way, she meets Kikori, a university student who is also searching for the unearthed charms. Earnest and conscientious—though somewhat clumsy—he cannot bring himself to abandon the lost Hina doll. Using the search for the charms as a pretext, he decides to travel alongside her.

United by their shared goal of finding the charms, the two form a partnership to unravel the mysteries sleeping within Sensei Village and track down the missing artifacts.

Rules of the World

The village operates on a concept known as "Resonance Value." As this value rises, the number of spirits appearing increases, and the village itself begins to undergo changes in its landscape and atmosphere.
