Tale of Specters: Joseon 1592 is an alternate-history fantasy tactical RPG set during the Imjin War. Lead a ragtag company of exiles, surrendered soldiers, and outlaws across a war-torn Joseon where magic and steel share the battlefield.

Win Through Tactics, Not Numbers Alone

Victory depends on more than raw stats.

Every battlefield is designed around elevation and terrain. Seize the high ground, force enemies into unfavorable positions, and turn the landscape itself into a weapon.

Exploit the relationships between the four elements—Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind—while carefully tracking the turn order. Combine skills with the right status effects, and even a seemingly hopeless battle can become a hard-earned victory.

A Three-Tier Class Progression System: 8 → 12 → 8

Build your company through a three-tier class system, beginning with 8 basic classes and progressing into 12 intermediate and 8 advanced classes.

The same character can fulfill an entirely different role depending on their class, skills, and place within your formation.

Salvage, Reforge, and Customize Your Equipment

Your equipment can be developed just as deeply as your soldiers.

Imbue weapons with elemental properties, raise their grade, or dismantle battlefield loot at the forge and rebuild it into something more useful. Create equipment combinations tailored to your company and preferred tactics.

Recruit Figures from History and Legend

Meet Hong Sa-heon, a commander hiding his past; Lee Dong-gil, a lowborn mage whose spells can reshape the battlefield; Maechang, a gisaeng and poet more skilled with a blade than a brush; and Heo Gyun, the scholar credited with writing The Tale of Hong Gildong.

Recruit characters with distinct histories, personalities, and abilities—and bring them together under your command.

Turn Yesterday’s Enemies into Today’s Allies

Victory does not always have to end with your enemy’s death.

Persuade defeated foes to join your company, then turn former opponents into key assets in the battles ahead. Win, recruit, reorganize your forces, and take on ever-greater challenges.

Three difficulty settings allow both newcomers and experienced tactical RPG players to enjoy the game at their preferred level of challenge.

Current Development Status

Tale of Specters: Joseon 1592 will enter Early Access with its core systems in place, alongside four chapters containing a total of 50 stages.

We plan to continue expanding the game with additional content and features while incorporating feedback from our players throughout Early Access.

The price will increase when the game reaches its full 1.0 release.
