About the game

Real-time image-enhancement tool for any game. No mods required.

Original Steam description

Dr Pixel is a real-time filter and image-enhancement tool for games.

Color-correct or completely restyle any title into a comic-book, retro, or 8-bit world. You can use custom filters to isolate any color, or shift it. Cinematic and Fun filters are included.

No per-game setup — one tool for your whole library.

Enhance & Correct — make every game look its best

  • Sharpening that restores detail and crispness without halos or oversharpening.

  • Full color grading — exposure, contrast, saturation, white balance, tint, shadows, midtones and highlights.

  • One-click looks — Vivid, Black & White, Sunset, Warm, Cold.

  • Cinematic looks — color correction and custom cinema bars.

  • HDR and SDR supported.

Transform — turn any game into a new art style

  • Oil Painting — soft, painterly brushstrokes.

  • Comic — bold inked outlines and printed-comic shading.

  • Woodcut — carved lines in the style of an old woodblock print.

  • Retro CRT — scanlines, screen curvature and phosphor glow of an old tube TV.

  • 8-Bit / Pixelate — crunch any game down to chunky retro pixels.

  • Posterize — flat, poster-like color bands.

  • Color moods — Noir, Crimson, Naturefade, Vibrant, Exquisite and Color Shift.

Color Tools — take control of every color

  • Color Isolation — keep one color vivid and drain the rest to grayscale.

  • Color Control — tune each color on its own: shift it, boost it or tone it down.

  • Built for competitive games — tone down harsh, neon backgrounds and keep your eyes on what matters.

Cinematic — give any game a movie look

  • Cinema bars — black bars at the top and bottom for a widescreen film feel, or a full black border.

  • Cinematic extras — film grain, vignette and chromatic aberration.

  • Bloom — a soft glow on bright areas, with an adjustable threshold.

  • Lens — lens distortion and a vignette with its own color, feather and blur.

Fun — because games should be fun

  • Invert — flip every color on screen.

  • Fish Eye — a wide, bulging lens view.

  • Rainbow — paint the whole game in rainbow colors.

  • Particles — snow, fire, sparkles and more on top of your game.

  • Random preset — press the dice or your own hotkey for a surprise look or a challenge run.

Simple by design

  • Runs on top of your game — no game files modified, nothing to set up per title.

  • Start from a preset, or take full manual control when you want it.

  • Automatic capture mode — easy setup with the most efficient image capture.

Works with your games

  • Supports windowed and fullscreen modes.

  • Multiple capture methods for broad compatibility and minimal overhead.

  • Multiplayer mode — captures the picture through Windows and stays out of the game's process, memory and files.

  • Preferred GPU — choose which graphics card runs the effects, handy on laptops with two GPUs.

  • Online games: Dr Pixel sits on top of your game, but as with any overlay, please use your own discretion with titles that run anti-cheat.

Technical information

  • Windowed and borderless fullscreen modes are supported in DXGI and WGC modes.

  • Exclusive fullscreen mode works with Hook mode, which supports DirectX 11/12 games.

Drop Dr Pixel on top of any game and make it look exactly the way you want.
