Touchline Capital
Touchline Capital is a management simulation set in the world of professional football. You don't play as a club, or even as a player: you run an agency trying to build a business empire around professional football. Found your football company in any corner of the world, start out with limited local contacts and resources, expand your business step by step, and collect and develop a wide variety of cards. So that you can sink in easily and create your own company story and memories, Touchline Capital's interactions are built around the following features.
Smooth, card-based play instead of dry spreadsheet management
Use your scouts to find and judge the players worth signing, assign the right agent to each client, and decide how much the company is willing to invest in these prospects. Based on the rarity of each player's card, you can also build a unique Star Plan for them. Completing Star Plan objectives earns rich rewards both inside and outside the current run. Objectives include, but are not limited to, career MVP awards, goals, transfers, minutes played and clean sheets, and every one of them needs you to guide your player there step by step.
Place free agents
Spend company money to help clients join clubs in leagues of different levels, chasing a better environment to develop in and more playing time. You can also build promotion and commercial activity around their performances to grow their fanbase and commercial value. But however much the company invests, whether it pays off still comes down to what the client does on the pitch.
Match viewing and predictions
Match viewing isn't the main focus of Touchline Capital, but the game still lets you draw on your own understanding of football: pick the fixtures you care about, check players' attributes, habits and past form, predict how a match will play out, and then put company money on your predictions at simulated odds. It might be a back-door way to make money, or it might send your company down the road to ruin.
Client career board
The serpentine career board shows clearly how each client performed at every stage and milestone of their career, along with the revenue that transfers and other events brought into the company.
Income doesn't come only from commission on transfers, contracts and awards. As a client's influence grows, their fanbase brings in new sponsorships, and the company can put its accumulated capital into one commercial project after another, of all sizes, building a much larger revenue stream beyond football representation.
Allocate company resources wisely
Start as a newly founded small agency, gradually take control of your local football market, then move into new countries and compete with local and international rivals for clients, projects and market share. In the end you can expand your business across the whole world and aim for the best possible record on the all-time leaderboard. Every few years, the regulator in each regional market you operate in reviews your industry reputation, commercial credibility and other indicators. Fall short, and you face higher registration fees and stricter industry regulation. So allocate your resources carefully when signing clients or taking any other action.
Deal with unexpected events
Every investment carries risk. Even the best analyst misjudges sometimes, and even the most experienced scout can get it badly wrong. A highly rated youngster may never fulfil his potential, a seemingly safe project may suddenly lose money or even default, a star client may be poached by a rival, and an ever-growing staff brings an ever-heavier wage bill. Once the company grows beyond what it can sustain, any one of these problems can break the company's cash flow.
Hand over the reins and enjoy the show
The game includes a delegation system for the company. Set up your operating policies, hand every company matter over to your management team, and you get a fully hands-off, idle experience where you simply sit back and watch. Of course, how far can a company go on a strategy that never changes? We'd love to see you design the best set of operating policies for your starting region and share it with the community. Delegation setups shared by players who know the game inside out are exactly the kind of community feedback the developer is most looking forward to, and the depth of Touchline Capital's simulation already leaves plenty of room for very different delegation strategies.
Your company's chronicle
May your company be lucky enough to stand for a hundred years. If you ever have the time, look back at this badge wall: it is the company chronicle the game keeps for you. Lose yourself in it and remember the star players of years past, when you entered a market, and when you signed a particular project.
Things rarely go to plan, and bankruptcy is never far away. The developer hopes you won't forget a run once it's over. Complete a cycle to earn Legacy Points, engrave a staff member or client who left a lasting impression, and bring that person into future runs. Cards bought with Legacy Points in the meta shop can also give your next venture a helping hand.
There's much more in Touchline Capital waiting for you to explore. — Rixyo
