KUTO: The Lock of Time is a 2.5D action-platformer metroidvania built around time rewind

Missed a jump? Walked into a trap? Took a hit that should have killed you? Hold the Time Rewind Key and take those seconds back.

Every rewind burns Kronal Dust, and the only way to get more is to take it from your enemies. Play it safe and you’ll run dry soon.

Dash, jump and strike to cut through the temple guards. The scythe is heavy and the dash is short, so timing matters. Then face the bosses. The Minotaur guards the lower sanctuary, and Athena waits at the end of the demo.

Sanctuaries, ritual halls and ruins join into one hand-built map. Come back with new abilities, open shortcuts and find what the Order tried to bury.

Jokoan Kuto had a steady job: staff prophet for the Order of the Guardians of Time. The Order keeps the Temporal Columns standing, and the Columns keep the titan Kronos locked away.

Then Kuto saw the future. A man with a scythe burned the temple and the whole city with a wave of his hand. The infernal reaper was older and darker, but he was unmistakably the Kuto himself.

Kuto did the honest thing and told the elders. The elders did the sensible thing and sent him to the sacrificial fire.

The ritual did not go as planned.

Now Kuto carries the Scythe of Kronos, and the titan’s spirit is riding along inside him. The gods want Kuto gone. Kronos wants to break free. Kuto just wants to stop running.

With every step the titan grows stronger, and the vision draws closer.

He’d seen how this ends. He’d like a second opinion.
