About the game

A relaxing aquarium sim. Collect fish, build underwater gardens with plants, rocks and driftwood, and enjoy eight changing seasons. Set your aquarium as a live desktop background and let your little fish keep you company.

Original Steam description

Ever imagined keeping a little aquarium on your desktop?

In Sky, Grass, My Little Fish, start with a single fish and gradually create an underwater garden of your own. Collect the fish you love, arrange rocks, driftwood and aquatic plants, and watch light glide across their fins as your carefully placed scenery grows over time.

Your fish earn coins over time, helping you save for your next purchase. Welcome new residents, add decorations, or choose blessings that affect coin production, growth and breeding. Every choice brings something new to your aquarium.

Build your collection at your own pace, or explore combinations of species and blessings. Find a rhythm that suits you as you enjoy the view.

Choose rocks, driftwood, plants and decorations from your inventory, preview their positions, then place them in the tank. Move, rotate, undo and redo to refine your arrangement until it feels just right.

Use driftwood to shape the scene, layer rocks at different heights, then add detail with plants and pots. Rocks and driftwood come in procedurally generated shapes, so even the same types of materials can create very different landscapes.

Your aquascape keeps changing after you place it. Plants grow, green algae gradually spread across lit rocks and driftwood, and bare aquasoil can become a carpet of green.

Plants and attached algae contribute oxygen, while your fish need it. Keep an eye on supply and demand, and adjust your planting and fish population to bring care and design together. Change the lighting angle to reveal new textures and shadows on familiar rocks and driftwood.

Collect eight fish species with distinct silhouettes. Admire the flowing tails of guppies, the slender outlines of angelfish, and the graceful movements of koi and arowanas. Different color varieties bring fresh surprises to familiar species.

Select a fish to enter its close-up follow camera. Depth of field softens the scenery behind it, drawing your attention to its scales, fins and swaying tail. Watch it weave through plants and around driftwood, and see your underwater garden from a little closer.

When it is time to focus on work, reading or something at hand, turn on Flow State. Your fish temporarily stop moving while the focus timer keeps counting. When you finish, collect your focus rewards and return to your aquarium.

Open your journal to check total earnings, oxygen balance, species distribution and Flow State records. Each time you return, find another little thing to do in your familiar aquarium.

Choose from stream gravel, aquasoil, pool tiles, warm white wet sand, blue-gray tiles and an ivory matte base. Each gives your aquascape a different texture, with trade-offs in coin production, breeding, plant growth and oxygen supply.

Pair them with the colors and lighting of different seasons to create a bright, warm or peaceful mood. A natural stream, a lush planted garden, or a small underwater scene centered on a Buddha statue and ornaments? Take your time and build it with the materials you love.

Every piece of driftwood and every rock you acquire is procedurally generated with a random shape. Discover new forms and build a collection with a character of its own.
