About the game

You wake in a dream that keeps falling. Inhale — the world slows down; exhale — and you begin to run. But every breath awakens a deeper nightmare — they remember you, while you remember nothing. Gather the echoes, piece together your memories... or stay forever in this darkness.

Original Steam description

In the darkness, breathing is your only control.

Fading Edge is a side-scrolling adventure controlled by your breath. Inhale to slow your steps; exhale to run faster — but every breath awakens nightmares deeper below.

▎Breath Is Life and Death
Every inhale and exhale directly affects your movement speed. Pressure builds in the dark — when it peaks, nightmares will tear through your last three drops of blood.

▎Nightmares Show No Mercy
Stationary ones, stalkers, hunters, red ones — they are not level decoration, but hunters that think. Some dodge your gaze, some predict your path, some cannot be dispelled at all.

▎Echoes Are the Only Salvation
Echo shards lie scattered across the abyss. Touch them — pressure resets, nightmares dissolve. But peace never lasts. Deeper down, more await.

▎Four Abysses, Four Kinds of Forgetting
Forgetting (black and white), Obsession (cold blue), Letting Go (warm white), Origin (warm gold) — every abyss is a ruin of memory. The deeper you go, the lonelier it becomes.

▎A Dream Within a Dream
Sometimes a swirling black hole appears in the dark. Step inside — another world awaits. Piece together the shards, reclaim the memories stolen from you... or be trapped in the dream forever.

· High-contrast black-and-white hand-drawn style with rough brushstrokes
· Unique breath-based controls at the core
· Three drops of blood — death means starting over. Respect the dark.
· Fragmented storytelling — a treasure for collectors on a second playthrough

Stop breathing... and you die.
