The shield has gone dark.
For generations, your people sheltered within the bastions raised against a world that long ago broke apart. The barrier held. The light held. Now the energy that sustained it has failed, and the shield has fallen. You are sent out beyond the walls to find a new energy core, the only thing that can keep your bastion alive.
Beyond the safety of the walls lies a fractured, chaotic world lit by a golden glow. You explore it from above, alone, picking your way through a place that came apart long ago.
And you are not alone out there. The land is haunted by those who left before you and never returned. Twisted by machinery grafted into living flesh, they shamble forward with the relentless hunger of the dead. They were like you, once. They are like you no longer.
Find the core. Return before the bastion falls for good.
Don't become one of them.
