A new diner has opened on the shopping street. The owner is young, enthusiastic, and smiles with a bit of a goofiness. Every night, he visits "Old Chiang's Braised Pork Rice," a forty-year-old establishment right next door, to chat, occasionally bringing small gifts, asking after the owner's business, and listening to the old chef vent for a moment or two.

He looks like a good neighbor.

He is here to put this place out of business.

Day: Run Your Diner

Handing out menus, grabbing ingredients from the freezer, steaming and serving dishes, clearing tables—complete every order before the customers lose their patience. The money you earn is your cover, and your weapon: you need it to buy those "gifts for a friend."

Evening: Make Friends with Purpose

After closing up shop, walk down the block and sit for a while. Chat idly with the owner, listen to the old chef pour his heart out, and pick a gift that hits right at the heart of what's on his mind. Your favorability will slowly rise, your conversations will grow deeper, and they will start treating you like one of their own.

Night: Do the Things That Cannot Be Seen

Cut the internet cables, place a fake order that can't be canceled, leave an anonymous report, drop a seemingly casual comment on a forum. Disguise yourself, sneak in, crack passwords, plant bugs—then head back home, put on your headphones, and listen to what they talked about behind closed doors today.

Nobody will make the choice for you.
