2. Underworld / 1990s Russian slang: members of a criminal gang; fellow gangsters; trusted associates from one’s crew; street enforcers connected with organized crime.
3. Colloquial (later, softened): close mates, buddies from the same circle, “the boys”.
Shaved heads, short leather jackets, and a tinted Lada Samara or a well-worn BMW. Bloodied knuckles and a piece of rebar as the tools of making a living. Sound familiar? That's right — they're back! The legendary gangsters of the 1990s return to flex their muscles and prove their street smarts once again.
They rule the city, master the art of protection rackets, and carve up territories. They are the scourge of street kiosks, cooperatives, and black market dealers.
