About the game
Convicts in a prison at the heart of a zombie city scavenge, fortify and backstab their way to day 30, when the government comes to silence them. Bring up to 15 friends; friendly fire is on. Your crew can die for good. You can't. You just don't know why yet.
Original Steam description
They cured cancer. Now nobody stays dead.
The rest of the world wanted ten more years of trials. The city couldn't wait: everyone got the shot, free. For a month they all felt great. Then they stopped dying, never stopped growing, and started eating anything that moves. The government sealed the city and sent in the cleanup crews. The only people still themselves are the convicts of Central City Prison, because nobody wasted the cure on them, and a stubborn few who never trusted a free miracle. You're one of the convicts, and the government would very much like everyone in there to disappear, quietly. You can't die. Your crew can.
- When you die, you wake up back in your cell. The crewmates you took out with you don't.
- Every inmate has a name, a crime and a temper. They learn by doing, fall back when they're hurt, and lure the dead away from you when it counts. Lose one ten days in and you'll feel it.
- Then you learn what you are. Smell like the dead so the horde walks past, play dead when it doesn't, graft what you cut out of the special infected into your own body. Just don't let fire get you.
Loot. Survive. Extract.
- 16 places in a sealed city, opening up day by day: a roadside gas station, a three-floor mall, Maple Street, the army's quarantine line, the police station, a school run by a scavenger gang, the subway, the government's own shelter, the hospital, a zoo turned outpost, a pharma lab, the stadium where the shot was given, and downtown, the biggest of all.
- Every raid is built fresh, and some go sideways: a map already overrun, a government clean-up in progress, a scavenger crew that got there first.
- Knives, crowbars, crossbows, shotguns, a sniper rifle, a tranquilizer gun, Molotovs and a flamethrower. Gunshots are loud, and half the mall will come to say hello.
- Sneak up for silent kills, barricade doors, drop shutters, crawl through the dark. Night raids pay better, but you see less.
- Make it back to an extraction point with your haul, or lose everything outside your safe pocket.
Up to 16 players. Friendly fire is on.
- Online co-op for 2 to 16 players in public, friends-only or invite-only lobbies. Solo, you lead a crew of up to three AI inmates.
- Vote to head out together, split up inside, and hold the host's prison side by side when the siege comes.
- Accidents will happen. Kill a crewmate with a witness around and you're thrown out of the prison into a brutal exile run.
The dead keep growing
- Walkers, kids, fatties that charge straight through walls and parked cars, long arms that grab you through the wall, spiders that drop from the ceiling, zombie dogs, and bosses from a brood mother in the mall basement to a zombie panda at the zoo.
- They hear everything, eat their dead, grow bigger, and pile up in crowds you can wade through or get crushed in.
- Floors collapse, fires spread, fuel tanks go up, smoke fills the shops.
- Then the government joins in: hazmat squads, drones calling in mortar fire, and a Burn Chief with a flamethrower.
Hold the prison
- Upgrade facilities, craft gear, break into locked wings and recruit fellow inmates before the government's 30-day countdown runs out.
- Every crime comes with a perk and a problem. The lockpick searches twice as fast, and things go missing from your stash. The arsonist lobs Molotovs into crowds, and small fires keep setting the building work back.
- On day 30 they come over the wall. Your walls, your crew and every inmate with a pistol decide how the siege ends.
A story behind the bars
- A warden who treats convicts like people. A prison counselor everyone calls the Godfather. A wedding under a rain of fire. A doctor who hates everyone and stayed anyway.
- Survive the siege and the city starts to burn. Get proof of what was done here to the outside world before the fire reaches your gate.
A new case file every week
- One fixed run a week, the same city for everyone, with two twists. Post your best to the Steam leaderboard and watch the top ten replays.
Cartoon art, dark humor, cute but gross. Full controller support. Data-only mods supported.
